How this site pays for itself, so you don’t have to wonder.

The reading list at the end of an article may include affiliate links to booksellers. If you buy something through one, this site gets a small commission and you pay exactly the same price.

Books are listed because the article actually relies on them. The reading lists were written before any affiliate programme existed, and nothing has been added, moved up or praised because it pays better. If the best source earns nothing, it still gets listed.

Advertising

The site may show ads. Advertisers get no say in what’s written, no early look at articles, and no way to have anything changed or taken down.

Sponsorship and gifts

Nothing here has been sponsored. If that ever changes, the article will say so in its first paragraph, not in a footnote. The same goes for any free review copy or access.

What stays the same

None of this changes what gets written. Plenty of articles here argue against the popular version of their subject, which isn’t how you’d write if you were chasing clicks. That won’t change.
